Lauren Ancona [City of Philadelphia]
Lauren Ancona joined the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Information and Technology last year as a Data Scientist on the Open Data team. She was formerly Assistant Director of the Corzo Center for the Creative Economy at University of the Arts. Educated as a classical musician (percussion and conducting), she spent 9 years as a nonprofit administrator, where she developed digital and print marketing campaigns. Early in her career she was drawn to data-driven marketing strategy, and has extensive experience crafting advanced implementations of Google Analytics - specifically for eCommerce and SaaS companies. This data obsession has recently led to an interest in civic hacking, open data, and online mapping/GIS. Lauren is an active member of Code for America’s Philadelphia Brigade, Code for Philly, MaptimePHL, and is an avid surfer.
